Netball in Schools

Netball is thriving in Greater Manchester’s schools, and we’re proud to support both primary and secondary programmes across the County.

We’re here to help you get involved, whether you’re looking to enter competitions, deliver Bee Netball, or host a school event.

Secondary Schools

Our Greater Manchester Schools Committee organises a range of county-level competitions for secondary schools, including:

County Leagues
County Festivals
National Schools Competition
Annual General Meeting (AGM)

To take part in these events:

Schools must affiliate with England Netball by 30th September
Attendance at the School’s AGM is required for entry into certain competitions

Bee Netball (Primary Schools)

Bee Netball is England Netball’s fun and friendly programme for children aged 5–11, promoting an early love for sport and physical activity.

It helps children learn:

Throwing and catching
Footwork and shooting
Teamwork and confidence

Extra Support for Schools

Emma Heap is the Partnership Development Manager at Tameside School Sports Partnership (SSP) and a School Games Organiser. Emma is a fantastic resource for Primary and Secondary Schools looking to develop their netball and wider sports provision, through, for example:

Running competitions
Planning school netball events
Developing school sport programmes
